"R-7" family launch vehicles

Under the leadership of OKB-1 three initial modifications of  "Vostok", "Molniya" and "Soyuz" launch vehicles were created by our enterprise. Some more 6 "R-7" family launch vehicle modifications were developed by TsSKB as a central design bureau.

"Vostok"-series launch vehicles, "Soyuz"-series "Voskhod", "Soyuz", "Soyuz-L", "Soyuz-M", "Soyuz-U2" launch vehicles operation was finished.

Today "Soyuz-U" and "Soyuz-FG" launch vehicles are in operation. "Soyuz-U" and "Soyuz-FG" launch vehicles deliver cosmonauts and cargos to the International Space Station as well as inject automatic spacecraft into low orbits.

"Soyuz-U" and "Soyuz-FG" launch vehicles with "Ikar" Injection Module ("TsSKB-Progress" is the developer and manufacturer) or "Fregat" kick stage (NPO named after S.A.Lavochkin) are used for injection of spacecraft into middle or high orbits.

"Molniya-M" launch vehicle is used for injection of satellites into high-elliptical and Sun-synchronous orbits.

Plesetsk and Baikonur launch sites are used for injection of "Soyuz"-series and "Molniya"-series launch vehicles.

At the present time the development of  "Soyuz-2" three-stage launch vehicle is accomplished in two phases ("Soyuz-2-1a" and "Soyuz-2-1b"). "Soyuz-2" three-stage launch vehicle will replace "Soyuz"-series launch vehicles and "Molniya-M" launch vehicle with the use of "Fregat" kick stage and "Ikar" Injection Module.

"Soyuz-ST" launch vehicle is a modification of "Soyuz-2" (1 a phase) launch vehicle, adapted to launching conditions of Kourou launch site, will be used for launching commercial payloads from Korou launch site (French Guiana).
